Abstract:

Mississippi START replications continue to proliferate...and that's just the beginning! Using START modules as the core, Mississippi has engaged preservice and inservice educators to integrate technology-rich learning resources into the curriculum. From Marine and Coastal Science, to Mathematics, to Psychology, to testing Space Shuttle Main Engines, building on existing educational resources has spelled success. Collaboration and synergy among Mississippi's START members has produced momentum for continuing contact. An initial meeting was conducted on October 19 and 20 with a follow-up scheduled in February 2002. Technology integration in teacher education is the primary focus of the emerging JUMP START Mississippi.
Please visit the Mississippi section of the START Calendar to learn about other ways START is being implemented by trainers throughout the state.
