Imagine youÌre under four feet tall, and youÌve spent the whole day gazing up at amazing life-sized models of dinosaurs, insects, and sea creatures that youÌre not allowed to touch! Begun on a trial basis ("letÌs see how it works for six months") 25 years ago, The Discovery Room is a popular stop in the Museum for all ages, and displays a hands-on microcosm of the Museum with objects from each scientific department.

ItÌs a model space just for kids and their families, where learning is a five sensory experience. In just a few short minutes, our group got in touch with our inner child, lounging on soft-carpeted steps and being amazed by the breadth of artifacts and activities that are available to families. Engaging staff, honeycombs, taxidermy animals and other curiosities of nature are just some of what make this space so popular.
