Participants will learn to train others to:
- navigate the World Wide Web while using effective search
strategies to identify science resources.
- evaluate Web sites that are valuable in addressing National
Science Education Standards.
- post information on the START Exchange.
- create a homepage on the World Wide Web.
Day 1 Training Modules:
Searching for Information on the Web
Module Goals:
- To provide an overview of the Internet.
- To gain an understanding of the online research process.
- To practice the skills necessary to effectively conduct online
research.
- To survey the online resources available for research.
Evaluating Web Resources
New Evaluating Web Resources Module Materials (Math)
Module Goals:
- To become familiar with the elements used to evaluate Web
sites.
- To identify and evaluate Web resources that support the National
Science Education Standards.
- To post a Web resource to the START Exchange.
Creating a Web Page Using Netscape Composer
Module Goals:
- To create and publish a Web page using Netscape Composer.
- To become aware of various Web publishing issues and concerns.
